Frequently Asked Questions

Do you only shoot weddings?
We are in love with weddings, but not married to it. We also love life and shoot anything to do with it: couples, families, pregnancies, newborns, marketing, events and yes, even pets.
How do I book?

The process works a bit like getting engaged:

  • You catch my attention by completing this contact form that will get you in touch with me (yay!) and geared with information on my availability and pricing options.
  • We hastily respond to your enquiry – mostly within 24 hours. (We do not believe in playing hard-to-get.)
  • You choose the package that ticks all your boxes and notify us (of course sounding very excited!).
  • We propose with a booking contract and invoice.
  • You accept and sign. (Phew!)
  • Once you have paid a R5000.00 non-refunfable deposit , you send us your proof of payment. (Since love is priceless, but photos aren’t.)
  • We are hooked up!

Important: Your booking will only be confirmed once your payment is received

We take bookings from one year prior to your much anticipated wedding date.
How does payment work?
A R5000 non-refundable deposit will secure us for your wedding date. The outstanding amount is payable one week prior to your wedding, at the latest.
How far do you travel?
As far as needed. I am based in Pretoria, but willing to go the distance (literally!) for my clients. As a standard, my packages include an 80km round-trip. Beyond that, R3.50/km is charged. If your venue is more than 100 km from Kempton Park, accommodation on the wedding day is required for my assistant and I. Beyond 250 km, the night before is also to be included. For destination weddings, flights; accommodation and vehicle rental should be provided.

Do you work with an assistant?
“No, for the past 2 years I have been shooting my Weddings and Corporate work on my
own, I feel more creative and love to zone out on my own unique style. If a client requests a second shooter, I use some of my industry friends
How long is the wedding shoot?
This is more or less a picture of the ideal time schedule:

  • Venue and Décor: 25-35min
  • Good-looking groom: 40-50min
  • Beautiful bride: 60-90min
  • Frustrated family (who just wants those pre-drinks): 20-30min
  • Bridal Party: 15-20min
  • Bridal Couple: 45-55min

We will have a planning session to chat about the nitty-gritties.

Your choice! If you would like, we will share a few ideas. We could set up a photo booth at an additional cost or alternatively recommend a few companies specialising in photo booths.
Do you require food?
We do eat, yes.  Please provide food for me and my assistant. However, we do not require wedding food and seating at a guest table – have us sit anywhere and feed us anything half decent.
Do we have a meeting prior to the wedding?
Of course! And hopefully there will be coffee too. We cannot wait to meet our clients and we have work to do together in setting up an action plan for the Big Day. If you are too far away, Skype will have to do.
What about extra lighting?
I am a natural light photographer. Per definition, I rarely use artificial lighting, apart from the occasional flash when required. Keep in mind: Having a bridal suite, groom’s room and chapel with enough white light is highly recommended!
When will I have my photos?
6-8 Weeks are normally needed for post-production. If you ordered a fine art album, patiently add some extra waiting time. Also, printing only happens after the final thumbs-up from the newlyweds.

Will the photos be digitally manipulated?
Yup. The post-production touch-ups account for a big part of the time and love that go into our final product.
How do we get the best possible photos?
  • Plan well. The couple shoot is ideally done during the “golden hour” when nature offers her best lighting. This might entail hurrying up the minister…
  • Stressed faces do not make pretty pics, so make sure there is enough time for all the desired shots and that the bridal party and family are informed on when they should show up where to “say cheese”. Again: proper planning!
  • Organise a spacious room with ample white light.
  • Have attractive hangers for the bridal gown and bridesmaid dresses.
  • Ensure you feel your prettiest by booking trial runs for your hair and make-up.
  • Be yourself, be in love and enjoy your special day – this creates the best and most authentic photos!
